Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups of soft butter (3 sticks)
- 1 ½ cups of brown sugar
- 3 egg yolks (save the egg whites)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp maple flavoring
- 4 cups of flour
- ¾ tsp of baking soda
- ¾ tsp of salt
- Chocolate chips
- Pecan halves (optional)

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In a medium bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar
- Blend in egg yolks, vanilla, and maple flavoring into butter mixture
- Mix in dry ingredients, adding one cup of flour at a time
- Split pecans in groups of two on the cookie sheets
- Mold dough into balls
- Dip bottom of dough ball in egg whites and lightly press on pair of pecans
- Bake for 12 minutes
- Cool and cover tops with melted chocolate chips
- Cover to allow chocolate to cool and harden for a few hours
