Ingredients
- 1 Cup Cane Sugar
- 1 Cup White Karo Syrup
- 1 ½ Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
- 6 Cups Special K Cereal
- 12oz Pkg Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 6oz Pkg Butterscotch Chips
Directions (Steps, Oven Temperature, Time per Step)
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees
- Pour sugar and karo syrup into a small saucepan and bring to a boil and remove from heat immediately
- Add peanut butter to sugar mixture and stir
- Add 6 cups of special k cereal to large mixing bowl.
- Pour sugar mixture over the cereal and stir well. Coat the cereal completely
- Put mixture into a greased 9”x12” pan and pat down
- Sprinkle the package of chocolate chips and butterscotch chips on top
- Put pan in oven for 2-4 minutes (Or just long enough to melt the chips but not burn)
- Remove pan from oven and spread chocolate/butterscotch topping until blended
- Cut while still warm (store in fridge for later)

Recipe’s Story: Anecdote (Three to Five Sentences)
These are by far my favorite dessert. My mom has made these bars for every holiday. Our entire family believes she makes them best and always requests them. I still have not made them as well as she has, but I won't stop trying! And I have never been able to resist taking less than 3 bars in a sitting.
