Better Than your Grandma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

Tom & Jerry’s Holiday Drink

Ingredients:
- Water
- 1 Egg
- 3-4 oz. Milk
- 1 Tbsp. Powdered Sugar
- 1 oz. Rum
- ¼ tsp. Brandy
- Nutmeg for taste
Directions:
- Boil water in a pan deep enough to fit a small coffee mug, and remove from gas
- Place small coffee mug in hot water – the key to a great Tom & Jerry is a warm cup
- Bring milk to a simmer
- Separate egg yoke and white and beat both thoroughly
- Combine egg yolk and egg white folding in powdered Sugar to make batter
- Remove small coffee mug from water and dry, be careful it will be hot
- Add 1 – 1½ ounces of batter to bottom of warm coffee mug
- Add 1 ounce of Rum or less, to the coffee mug
- Pour hot milk over the batter, leaving about ¼ inch, and stir gently
- Lace the top of the drink with ¼ tsp. Brandy
- Sprinkle Nutmeg on top

- Tom & Jerry’s hold a special place in my Christmas memories. If my Mom & Dad had the Tom & Jerry bowl and cups out, it meant family and loved ones were coming over.
- It was never really about the drink; it was about the people. I share this tradition with my kids today, and of course, remove the Rum and Brandy, as my folks did for me.
