Recipe Type - Dessert
Serving(s) - 4-8 people
Cook Time - Not cooked, but allow at least 3-4 minutes for each layer in freezer.
Prep Time - Exact time unknown, but there are a lot of prepping steps.
Dietary Restrictions - See ingredients, but does contain dairy, and sugar.
Ingredients:
- 1 large pkg. Double Stuff Oreos (you can use regular as well-depends on your preference)
- 1 stick soft butter
- 1 pkg. cream cheese
- 1 cup conf.(powdered) sugar
- 2 – 8 oz. Extra creamy Cool Whip containers
- 1 large pkg. instant vanilla pudding to be prepared with milk (I prefer French vanilla-but again depends on your preference)
Directions:
- You will need a deep 9 x 13 pan.
- Smash all the cookies in a bag and set aside 1 cup.
- Mix crumbs with soft butter
- Spread crumbs/butter mix in the bottom of the pan. Recommend to use a greased spatula to push it down evenly out to the edges (forming the crust). Place in freezer.
- Mix cream cheese and conf. sugar thoroughly, then add 1 cool whip tub and mix it all together.
- Pull pan from freezer and layer this mix on top evenly, return to freezer.
- Prepare pudding per instructions (Instant Pudding Used) and gently pour on top, spread to edges to form next layer. Place in freezer.
- Take large spoonsful of the last cool whip tub and place on top, then smear gently to form a layer.
- Sprinkle the 1 cup of cookie crumbs set aside on top evenly. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
- Enjoy!
Suggested Pairings:
Dinner first is recommend….. but also optional!
Recipe's Story:
Who doesn’t love Oreos? If they say no, I either don’t trust them, or think they are lying. This dessert is a perfect mix of a cool refreshing treat that has sweet whipped cream and vanilla pudding while adding the secret ingredient (Oreos!). It’s a nice change of pace for a desert as this one is served cool for a nice hot day!
