Recipe Type - Dessert
Serving(s) - 3-5 people
Cook Time - Unknown, but you will have to let them cool to harden the chocolate! (Faster when chilled)
Prep Time - Not that long!
Dietary Restrictions - See ingredients, but does contain dairy, peanuts, and sugar.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup room temperature butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 16 oz. pkg. conf.(powdered) sugar
- Dipping milk chocolate (I use the discs-available at candy stores, but grocery stores carry bricks too)
Directions:
- In a bowl mix peanut butter, butter, vanilla, and conf. sugar. With hands form a smooth dough, it will be stiff.
- Shape into little balls-place on wax paper on a cookie sheet.
- Melt chocolate.
- Use a toothpick to pierce each ball one at a time and partially dip into chocolate, leaving the top with a small circle of peanut butter showing (3/4 covered in chocolate). This is the “Buckeye nut” (or look alike).
- Place all of the dough mix dipped in chocolate onto wax paper.
- Chilling will help the chocolate harden faster, but with dipping chocolate it will still harden, but it does take a little longer than without chilling.
- Enjoy!
Suggested Pairings:
Dinner first is recommend….. but also optional!
Recipe's Story:
Ever since I can remember, my family has been the biggest Michigan Wolverine fans as myself, my sister, my grandma and grandpa all went to U of M. Our biggest rivals are the Ohio State Buckeyes. Although I will root for any of their sports teams, I will admit they do share a name with one of my all-time favorite deserts. If you like Reese’s, these are much better AND cheaper!
