Ingredients
- 3 cups of Flour
- 2 cups of Sugar
- 2 tsp of Baking powder
- 2 tsp of Salt
- 1 ½ cup of Vegetable Oil
- 4 Eggs
- 3 cups of finely grated carrots
Directions (Steps, Oven Temperature, Time per Step)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Add all ingredients into a large bowl
- Beat well
- Put into a greased tube pan (large Bundt cake pan)
- Bake for 1 hour 20 minutes (This time may vary. Check the cake at 1 hour and add time in increments of 5 minutes until toothpick comes out clean).
Suggested Pairings (Optional)
Coffee. If you want more of a cake feel, add your favorite cream cheese frosting!
Recipe’s Story: Anecdote (Three to Five Sentences)
This recipe was handed down from my grandmother. Since she passed away before my sister and I were older enough to learn to bake, it was one of our favorites, most challenging recipes to learn how to make despite minimal directions. Through many years of trial and error (and forgetting exactly what we did last time), we learned the little quirks to add to this recipe today while also learning it’s always a good idea to take notes.
